What is NEMZIO Land?
Survey and title checks before you pay for land, by registered professionals. A surveyor checks the land at the state survey office and a lawyer traces the title at the land registry, and they sign their own reports. Land checks are available for properties in Port Harcourt (Rivers State). Before you pay a seller or an agent, NEMZIO Land puts the official records to professionals:
- Charting (survey search): A registered surveyor checks your survey plan's coordinates at the state Surveyor-General's office: is the land free, committed or under government acquisition?
- Root of title search: A lawyer searches the state Land Registry and traces ownership back to its root, so you know the seller has the right to sell.
- Full land check: Charting and root of title together, plus a located boundary walk with photos. The check to do before you pay for land.
Their signed reports, and the documents the offices return, are kept with the property's record. A report is the professional's opinion on the records searched, not a NEMZIO result, and NEMZIO doesn't guarantee title.
