What to do with no signal or poor network

Starting a visit needs a moment of signal. After that, carry on: everything is saved on your phone and sends by itself when you have signal. Don't uninstall the app, clear its data or sign out before it's sent.

Starting

An ordinary visit needs a moment of signal to start. With no signal, the app shows Checking where you are (or No connection) and moves on by itself when it can. You can tap Try again now, or walk to where there's a little signal. You can't take photos for the visit until it moves on.

While you wait, you can still tap Not safe or can't get there?, or Cancel this visit.

A boundary walk, or a visit to record where a property is, can start without signal: the app says No connection. Tap Continue and carry on.

During the visit

Once the visit has started, keep going. Everything you take is saved on your phone. The app says “No signal: everything is saved on this phone and sends by itself later.”

Sending

  1. 01Tap Finish and send as usual, even with no signal.
  2. 02The Sent screen says everything is saved and sends when you have signal. Tap Done.
  3. 03Later, go somewhere with signal or Wi-Fi.
  4. 04Open the app and leave it open for a few minutes.

A bar at the top of the app shows how many photos are waiting to send. Tap it to open the Send queue. You can also find it under Account → Account and settings → Send queue. Tap Retry everything now to try at once.

Don't

  • Don't uninstall the app or clear its data. Photos that haven't been sent would be lost.
  • Don't sign out. Photos waiting to send stay on the phone, but they only send after you sign in again with the same account.

If your email isn't confirmed yet, the queue waits for that too. Confirm your email, and it carries on.
