How to do a visit

Before you go, allow NEMZIO to use location and the camera, and charge your phone. See Location is off and The camera doesn't open.

Start the visit

1. 01Go to the property.
2. 02Open the app. On Home, under Waiting for you, tap Start visit on the visit. With no request, open the property and tap Start visit.
3. 03The Start a visit screen shows the property, the kind of visit and any message from the owner.
4. 04If you see Continue instead of a map, tap it. Tick “I've read what a visit records” and tap Continue. You only do this once.
5. 05Look at the map. It shows the property and where you are.
6. 06If Phone check asks for something, such as camera or location access, tap its button and sort it out.
7. 07Tap Start visit.
8. 08Wait while the app says Registering your visit….

If the app shows Checking where you are, wait. It moves on by itself, even if you have no signal now. You can tap Try again now. If the app says Couldn't start here, read why and use the buttons it shows.

Take the photos

1. 01Read the instruction on the screen.
2. 02Tap Take photo (or Record video).
3. 03Check the photo. Tap Use photo, or Retake to try again.
4. 04Move on to the next one. On some visits it appears by itself. On others, tap Next.
5. 05To leave one for later, tap Skip for now, or Can't do this? and then Skip this one for now.

Photos are only taken with the app's camera, when you tap. Photos already on your phone can't be added.

Send it

1. 01When the app says “That's everything for this visit.”, or asks Anything else to show?, tap Finish and send. On Anything else to show? you can add an Extra photo or Video first.
2. 02Type a note for the owner if you like, such as “Gate was locked”.
3. 03Tap Send.
4. 04The Sent screen says Saved. Sending… while your photos go up. Keep the app open.
5. 05When it says Sent ✓, the owner can see your visit. Tap Done.

Some visits end on a Visit complete screen instead: type a note if you like and tap Send the visit.

If something stops you

• A place isn't safe, or you can't get in: tap Can't do this?, then This place is not safe. or I cannot get there. Never take a risk for a photo. See What if a spot isn't safe to reach?
• A surprise check: write the code from the screen on paper, then tap I've written the code: start. See What is a surprise check?
• A boundary walk: stand at a corner and tap Start walk. Walk the whole boundary back to where you started, and tap I'm at a corner at each corner to take its photo. Then tap Stop walk, and Finish and send. See What is a boundary walk?
